Year 11 Drama - Roses of Eyam

USC Year 11 Drama performed Don Taylor’s Roses of Eyam in November. This play, about a village in Derbyshire which quarantined itself to stop the spread of the plague in 1666-67, held special resonance in 2022. The cast and designers worked hard for a striking, dramatic, and poignant result.
Year 11 Chemistry
USC Year 11 Chemistry students are here observing a metal displacement reaction, in this case the formation of pure silver due to the reduction of silver ions when exposed to a metallic zinc coil. This was the precursor to the students carrying out their own metal displacement reaction as part of their study of oxidation and reduction. These principles are the basis for batteries and photography.
Chemistry with Chupa Chups
Watch this video of USC Year 11 Chemistry students conducting an experiment that shows how glucose in the Chupa Chups reacts with potassium permanganate. This adds electrons from the glucose to the manganese metal in the permanganate, which changes the colour.
Year 11 Legal Studies students celebrate

USC Year 11 Legal Studies students enjoyed lunch and amazing views at our Gawler Place campus to celebrate back-to-back Grand Final victories in the Law Society’s Mock Trial Competition. Coach and legal practitioner, Barnaby Grant, joined them. Plain English Speaking Award Competition - Jessica Grasser

Congratulations to University Senior College Year 11 student Jessica Grasser, who won the National Final in the Plain English Speaking Award Competition. The Plain English Speaking Award aims to encourage and maintain the best use of clear and effective spoken English and is open to senior students in all government and non-government schools.

Research Project Results 2022

With an incredible 55% of students achieving in the A band, students at University Senior College have continued to chose interesting and unique topics for their Research Projects and make great use of the resources and teachers around them to help facilitate greater knowledge acquisition and skills refinement .

This year in May, the South Australia Young Achiever Awards winners were announced during a Gala dinner, in front of an audience of over 300 people. University Senior College was there as one of the partners for their Create Change Award.

University Senior College Year 11 Legal Studies students are here refining their advocacy skills in The University of Adelaide Law School Moot Court.
Mock Trial Competition Grand Final Winners

For the second year in a row, University Senior College won the Grand Final of the Law Society’s Mock Trial Competition, held at the District Court on Tuesday 13th September.
