Research Project Results 2022

Students on campus

The Research Project is a SACE requirement undertaken by every student in the state. At University Senior College, students undertake the Project across a single semester in Year 11 (generally). For 2022, the results released in July showed excellent achievement for our students ably assisted by our amazing team of Research Project teachers; Janine, Alana, Wendy, Sam, and Matt. 164 were enrolled, with an incredible 55% of students achieving in the A band. Additionally, 16% of USC students scored an A+, representing a remarkably high demonstration of self-directed research. In addition, two students were awarded a ‘perfect’ score.

As has become a trademark at University Senior College, the research topics represented a plethora of interests and provided wonderful opportunities for high-level critical thinking and analysis. Topics varied substantially from digital technology and early childhood development to media representations of Islam. One student investigated the impact of COVID-19 on anxiety levels in essential workers, whilst another focused their efforts on domestic violence mitigation through government programs.

Students at University Senior College continue to choose interesting and unique topics for their research and make great use of the resources and teachers around them to help facilitate greater knowledge acquisition and skills refinement.
