SACES Economics Briefing Luncheon 2023
On Monday 24th July a small group Economics students and teachers attended an Economics Briefing and Luncheon hosted by the South Australian Centre for Economics Studies. The event was held in ‘The Ballroom’ of the Intercontinental Hotel on North Terrace with Economists from the many Corporate Member organisations in attendance to be briefed by Executive Director Jim Hancock on the current economic conditions in South Australia, Australia and Internationally.
The Guest Speaker was Guy Debelle, Non-Executive Director Fortescue Future Industries, and former Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia. His talk was on ‘The green energy transition in Australia’. It was a fantastic experience for our Year 11 Economics students. A huge thank you to Lydia Jaloshin of SACES for our invitation and organising our photo with Guy Debelle. Guy graduated with a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from The University of Adelaide and has recently been made an Honorary Professor at The University of Adelaide.
