Writing History in the Stars Event
University Senior College students participated in an exciting space event called "Writing History in the Stars" held at The Braggs Building on the grounds of The University of Adelaide.
VEX Robotics Program
University Senior College Year 10 STEM students have engaged in a VEX Robotics program. The program allows students to learn basic coding, mechanics, and robotics to solve several challenges.

Australian Space Agency
University Senior College Year 10 STEM students took a day trip to the Australian Space Agency at Lot 14.
STEM Egg Drop Challenge
USC Year 10 students in STEM took part in an Egg Drop Challenge. The challenge saw students using limited resources and budgets to research, design, prototype, test and evaluate a mechanism to safely drop an egg from two stories. The formative task was the students first introduction into the Engineering Design Process.
Guest Speaker: Nicole Foster
This year in May, the South Australia Young Achiever Awards winners were announced during a Gala dinner, in front of an audience of over 300 people. University Senior College was there as one of the partners for their Create Change Award.
The Somerton Man
As part of USC STEM Community Connections and Partnerships, Professor Derek Abbott from The University of Adelaide delivered a talk on The Somerton Man to our students last term.
Earth and Environmental Science in the Science Olympiad
University Senior College Year 12 student, Samantha Vallance, who achieved a High Distinction in Earth and Environmental Science in the Science Olympiad in 2021 attended the Earth and Environmental Science Olympiad Summer School in January 2022. Samantha has completed Stage 1 competition and Stage 2 was the attendance in the Australian Science Olympiads Summer School.

The Australian Science Olympiads
The Australian Science Olympiads program is the ultimate science challenge for any Science student. It is a rewarding opportunity tailored for Year 11 students to stretch themselves way beyond school science through challenging exams, stimulating residential programs and international competitions in Physics, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science and Biology. Therefore, to be selected to represent Australia at the International Science Olympiad and to be able to compete against the world's best in Science, sitting the Australian Science Olympiad Exams is the first step.
