Parliament Visit
University Senior College students were treated to a reception, presentation and parliamentary tour with Member for Adelaide, Lucy Hood MP. The students were excited to attend parliament as it had been years since most of them had been. They engaged in debate, asked questions and heard about the history of the institution. Everyone was very engaged and Lucy was impressed by the knowledge and passion of our students.
Music Performance
Year 11 and 12 Music students presented another fantastic night of performances to family and friends.
AMC Mathematics Competition 2022
A group of enthusiastic USC students took part in the 2022 Australian Maths Trust, Australian Mathematics Competition.
'Plain English Speaking’ Competition
Congratulations to USC Year 11 student, Jessica Grasser who won the finals of the ‘Plain English Speaking’ Competition. The competition comprised of three categories: a prepared speech, an interview and a 3-minute impromptu speech. Jessica performed superbly in all three. The National Final will be organised by NSW as a zoom competition in September.
Year 11 Legal Studies
University Senior College Year 11 Legal Studies students are here refining their advocacy skills in The University of Adelaide Law School Moot Court.
Year 12 One on One Meetings
Sasha Champion from the domestic recruitment team of The University of Adelaide is meeting on a one-on-one basis this term to support our Year 12 students with degree selection, SATAC preferences and their university application process for 2023.
USC Careers Expo
The USC Careers Expo was a very valuable opportunity for our students to explore possible career pathways, to engage with The University of Adelaide faculty leaders, industry leaders and to meet with our USC Old Scholars, who have studied or worked in these fields. The highlight for many were hearing from our Old Scholars.
Year 10 Biology
USC Year 10 Science class have built models of the structure of DNA as they delve into the world of DNA, genetics and heredity. Individual DNA molecules from each student was connected together just like the polymer of DNA in real life
USC Formal 2022
The USC Formal was held at the Convention Centre on Friday 13 May. The theme was ‘Glitz and Glamour’ and all enjoyed the fabulous red carpet entrance and decorations. A great time was had by all who attended. Thank you to the Formal committee on a fantastic night.
Year 10 Science
University Senior College Year 10 students last year had a taste of the science subject Chemistry. Using practical experience, they learned more about the different types of chemical reactions that happen around them every day. The understanding of acids and bases in the topic of acid rain links with the chemistry of materials and biological chemistry.
