Exploring Hallett Cove

A group of students from USC recently explored the rich geological history of Hallett Cove Conservation Park. Led by their teacher, Corey Barrett, the students explored the area’s ancient rock formations, glacial pavements, and fossilized remnants, which provide key insights into Earth’s past.

As one of the most significant geological sites in Australia, Hallett Cove offers a unique opportunity to study evidence of glaciation from over 280 million years ago, as well as ancient sedimentary layers that reveal changes in climate and sea levels over time. The Hallett Cove Conservation Park also contains Aboriginal artifacts, making it a site of both geological and archaeological importance.
