Class of 2017 Reunion

The Class of 2017 Reunion was held at Hotel Richmond on Friday 21 October 2022. The night was a great success with twenty Old Scholars attending, along with current staff, Anita Zocchi, Principal, Bob Holloway (past Principal) and Murray Thompson (past Deputy Principal). One of the USC Old Scholars’ Association goals is to continue to deliver reunions and other events for Old Scholars to facilitate engagement and connection amongst Old Scholar networks.
Year 10 Mentoring
Year 10 Mentor, Olivia, shared helpful advice during a recent mentoring session, about resume preparation, writing cover letters and preparing for interviews. Students created or updated their resumes and practised answering interview questions.
Plain English Speaking Award Competition - Jessica Grasser

Congratulations to University Senior College Year 11 student Jessica Grasser, who won the National Final in the Plain English Speaking Award Competition. The Plain English Speaking Award aims to encourage and maintain the best use of clear and effective spoken English and is open to senior students in all government and non-government schools.

Research Project Results 2022

With an incredible 55% of students achieving in the A band, students at University Senior College have continued to chose interesting and unique topics for their Research Projects and make great use of the resources and teachers around them to help facilitate greater knowledge acquisition and skills refinement .

This year in May, the South Australia Young Achiever Awards winners were announced during a Gala dinner, in front of an audience of over 300 people. University Senior College was there as one of the partners for their Create Change Award.
Year 11 Legal Studies
University Senior College Year 11 Legal Studies students are here refining their advocacy skills in The University of Adelaide Law School Moot Court.
Year 10 Design
USC Year 10 Design students were given a design brief to create a promotional poster using the Redhead match logo. They explored new skills working with gouache paint on illustration board and students had freedom to select their own style.
SA Student Representative Council Summit
In May, more than 150 students from across South Australia came together for the first ever South Australian Student Representative Council (SA SRC) Summit. The SA SRC is led by the Commissioner for Children and Young People. The Foundation for Young Australians aims to elevate student voices and address key problems they face in South Australia. USC Year 12 student Anjali Beames applied and was selected to be part of the SA SRC. This group is now focusing on a campaign about student voice that is strategizing ways in which young people can be informed and included in influencing social change. At the SA SRC summit, Anjali had the opportunity to meet and talk with Lucy Hood, the MP for Adelaide, about ways to improve the CBD for young people.
