St Vinnie’s CEO Sleepout 2024
Thank you once again for supporting me to fundraise for the Vinnie’s CEO Sleepout. I have taken part in this event for ten years now and this experience really allows me to reflect how vulnerable people must feel out there night after night.
Burger Day
USC students enjoyed a burger for lunch which was cooked by the Deans after their Mentoring session. They all enjoyed catching up with others from across all year levels on the Johnson Lawns behind USC’s Jordan Building.
Pompeii, Herculaneum and Sourdough
In USC Year 11 Ancient Studies the class have been looking at Pompeii and Herculaneum with a particular focus on bread and bakeries right now.
World Challenge: Borneo
Year 10 and 11 students, accompanied by David Place and Elly Pfitzner, endeavoured on the adventure of a lifetime to Borneo on a World Challenge trip at the end of 2023. The students went on this trip to develop their leadership skills, resilience, cross-cultural understanding, and awareness of conservation practices.

University Senior College Year 11 Biology students recently engaged in an exciting forensic investigation, themed ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’, following their formal event.

Ten University Senior College students and staff attended the Australian of the Year Awards Luncheon at the Adelaide Convention Centre held on Friday 21 June 2024.

USC Old Scholar: Amber Brock-Fabel
Amber Brock-Fabel, University Senior College Graduate in 2022 was in Canberra recently appearing before the National Committee into Civics Education, Engagement and Participation. She described it as, ‘A cool opportunity to advocate for more opportunities for adequate and accessible civic resources and education for all young people as well as advocated for how teachers equipped with the right knowledge, can completely change lives.’ Congratulations Amber!
LGBTQIA+ History Walk
USC Year 10 Society and Culture students were treated to stories around the history of gay liberation and struggle around Adelaide, and through The University of Adelaide in particular. The walk was conducted by prominent historian Will Sergeant.
Hallett Cove Geological Excursion
USC Stage 1 Earth and Environmental Science students recently explored the geological wonders of Hallett Cove, South Australia—an incredible site spanning over 600 million years of Earth's history.
29th National Schools Constitutional Convention
University Senior College Year 12 student, Archie Grant participated in the 29th National Schools Constitutional Convention (NSCC).
