Brukunga Mines Excursion

University Senior College Earth and Environmental Science students recently visited the Brukunga Mines to explore the environmental impacts caused by past mining activities. During the excursion, they learned about the issues of acid mine drainage and its effects on the surrounding ecosystem. Experts guided students through various strategies currently being implemented to manage and remediate the site. Additionally, the students engaged in discussions about innovative solutions that could be applied to future mining projects, highlighting sustainable practices aimed at minimizing environmental damage.
