Jamie Bucirde Create Change Award Winner

Jamie Bucirde has won the prestigious University Senior College Create Change Award at the 2024 7NEWS SA Young Achiever Awards and was presented onstage by Vanessa Grave, Director of Marketing and Community Relations, University Senior College. Jamie Bucirde won the Award from a strong field of young achievers. The winners were announced on Friday 17 May at Stamford Grand Adelaide, hosted by Amelia Mulcahy, 7NEWS Weather Presenter with nearly 400 guests gathered from across the state.

Jamie is a qualified Sexologist, Resident Sexology Columnist for CityMag, and activist pioneering change in the hospitality and arts industry. As the founder of 'On the Cusp' and 'Not So Hospitable', Jamie addresses prevalent issues of sexual harassment and abuse within industries. Not So Hospitable provides a platform for hospitality workers to share testimonials, amassing 400 accounts within three months. Jamie creates academic case studies on hospitality-based sexual harassment and advocating for legislative change. Through On the Cusp, she delivers evidence-based workshops to foster respectful workplace relationships, aiming to eliminate harassment and ensure safety for all employees.

Well done, Jamie you are a well-deserved winner of our Create Change Award at this year’s SA Young Achiever Awards as well as the overall winner of the South Australian, Young Achiever Awards for 2024. An amazing achievement. This is especially exciting for USC because Jamie is a USC graduate in 2013.
