Space School
Congratulations to University Senior College Year 10 student Claire Sweeny who was selected from around South Australia to take part in an intensive educational four-day residential conference experience. It highlighted the careers available in the Space Industry and Astronomy fields within the disciplines of physics, science and engineering at Adelaide, Flinders, and Uni SA Universities.
Students visited Defence, Science and Technology Group (DSTG), The Planetarium at Hamilton Secondary Space School, and Physics laboratories and Engineering facilities at The University of Adelaide and were involved in a full day Mission to Mars program at the Hamilton Space Centre. The students also engaged in practical sessions in daytime astronomy, microgravity and built and launched model rockets at Hamilton Secondary Space School. In addition, they talked to scientists and engineers about careers in the physics, engineering, and Space Science. They also participated in Zoom meetings with space professionals from either ESA or NASA.
An amazing experience for Claire.
