International Program Update

Three USC International Students

The April holidays provided a time to pause, reflect and reset after the rigours of Term 1. While it was not possible to travel. Study Adelaide provided International students with the opportunity to join a mini-golf afternoon at Holey Moley and to sing along at a karaoke evening at The Voice.

The students have had a very busy term two as they complete final assessments for Semester 1 and prepare for the mid-year examinations. Their achievement in these will assist students in clarifying their intended pathway into tertiary study and they will work closely with their mentors to plan for these in more detail.

While we have no new onshore international enrolments, three students (two in China, one in Hong Kong) have successfully completed an online Intensive English course this semester. As soon as borders open, they will be able to take up their enrolments with us and continue their studies. In the meantime, they will continue online for Stage 1 Year 11 studies through the program provided by the SA Government International Education Services. For our remaining onshore students, it seems that it will be some time yet before they can travel to the home countries for a visit and then return to study. For some students the end of 2021 will be two years since they have been with their families. We are most fortunate to have dedicated homestay carers and of course the care and oversight provided by the staff of USC.
