International Women’s Breakfast 2023
University Senior College students and staff attended the International Women’s Breakfast at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Friday 10 March. This year’s Guest Speaker was Ambassador Caroline Kennedy U.S Ambassador to Australia and the host was the Honourable Senator Penny Wong. The breakfast Master of Ceremonies was Sonya Feldhoff. #crackingthecode #iwd2023 #inspiring
Governors Civics Award
Congratulations to USC 2022 Graduates Anika Bruin and Mia Jarvis, who were both awarded a Governors Civics Award in the SACE category. Anika and Mia were two students of only eight from across the state that received the award in a ceremony at Government House earlier this year.
USC Bake Sale
The USC Student Representative Council held a Bake Sale on Monday 20 March in support of the Australia and New Zealand Sarcoma Association. The Bake Sale took place in The University of Adelaide Hub and the SRC managed to raise more than double of their goal with support from the USC and The University of Adelaide community. The total of funds raised was $650.
Financial Literacy
Financial literacy is underway for some University Senior College Year 10s as they worked collaboratively to create a budget for a lifetime as they discussed the timing and costs of life events.
Year 11 Meet the Mentor Night
USC Year 11 Meet the Mentor Night was a great night where parents/caregivers could meet and build a connection with their child’s Mentor for 2023.
STEM Egg Drop Challenge
USC Year 10 students in STEM took part in an Egg Drop Challenge. The challenge saw students using limited resources and budgets to research, design, prototype, test and evaluate a mechanism to safely drop an egg from two stories. The formative task was the students first introduction into the Engineering Design Process.
Adelaide Fringe: USC Showcase
On Thursday 16 March at 6:30pm 2023 the University Senior College Drama Theatre presents an eclectic mix of performance, including Dance, Musical Theatre, Spoken word poetry and Instrumental Performance. Directed by Lynn Jackson, Lexi Buxton, and Caroline Barker. This has been a sell-out event in the past - book fast!
O Week at USC
O Week was a great week at University Senior College where our new and current students met each other as well as getting to know their teachers for 2023. Students has a variety of activities to help them transition smoothly into life at USC.
Governor Commendation Excellence Award
University Senior College 2022 Graduate, Amber Brock-Fabel received the prestigious Governor of South Australia Commendation– Excellence Award at the SACE Merit Ceremony on Thursday, 9 February. University Senior College congratulates you, Amber on your outstanding achievement.
