Congratulations to our USC Mock Trials Team

Congratulations to our USC Mock Trials team who defeated Seymour College 92- 82.

In the criminal case USC were Safework SA prosecuting a fast food restaurant for breaching their duty of care under the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA), which resulted in the injury of a young worker. The company ‘Tennessee Broiled Duck’ was found guilty. The trial was held in the District Court, Victoria Square. USC witnesses were given a hard time under cross-examination but the judge found them to be very credible. The judge commented that Jazlyn’s opening address was perfect and her cross-examination was very strong; our objections were accurate and well-explained; Nevith’s closing address was brilliant and the application of case law ‘was better than many lawyers in court.’ and our score of 92 is the highest he has ever given.
