Congratulations to our USC Mock Trials Team

USC Mock Trials Team before going into court.

Congratulations to our USC Mock Trials team who defeated Seymour College 92- 82.

In the criminal case USC were Safework SA prosecuting a fast food restaurant for breaching their duty of care under the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA), which resulted in the injury of a young worker. The company ‘Tennessee Broiled Duck’ was found guilty. The trial was held in the District Court, Victoria Square. USC witnesses were given a hard time under cross-examination but the judge found them to be very credible. The judge commented that Jazlyn’s opening address was perfect and her cross-examination was very strong; our objections were accurate and well-explained; Nevith’s closing address was brilliant and the application of case law ‘was better than many lawyers in court.’ and our score of 92 is the highest he has ever given. Thank you to the number of parents who came along to watch.
