Congratulations Angel Li
Angel Li, a USC Year 10 student, has been given the opportunity to rehearse and perform with the Elder Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra at the University of Adelaide.
Angel is one of the first violinists to be part of this Orchestra and she will be using her orchestral studies for her Stage 2 Ensemble Performance. The Elder Conservatorium kindly extended an invitation to music staff at University Senior College to nominate students to audition for this opportunity.
This is a wonderful achievement for a young person, who has been dedicated to the violin since a small child. Angel began playing the violin at eight years of age and said she was inspired by an Australian violinist, Ray Chen. Angel was fortunate to meet Ray in 2018 at an Adelaide concert. “I loved his playing style and he has had a similar journey to me by being the first in his family to like playing a musical instrument.” “I love the creativeness of playing the violin and I make every piece I play from my own taste. This is what I love the most!” said Angel.
Angel practises playing her violin for two hours a day and four hours each weekend. In addition to this Angel attends two rehearsals a week with the Elder Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra and is looking forward to her first concert in Week 9 of this term.
Angel’s long term goal is to one day be a professional violinist combined with being a Dermatologist, who finds a cure for eczema. Congratulations Angel, and we look forward to following your success.
