Intensive English Overnight Trip

In Week 2 of this term, our USC International staff members took the Semester 1 Intensive English students on an overnight trip to the South Coast.

We loaded our things into a mini-bus and set off along the South Eastern Freeway to the Meadows bakery for our lunch. Shortly after our lunch, we arrived at Urimbirra Wildlife Park just in time to see the Koalas have their lunch of fresh Eucalyptus leaves.

Before settling in to our Port Elliot Holiday Park accommodation, and shopping for our dinner and breakfast supplies, we drove to the Goolwa Barrage precinct and walked the boardwalk to the Goolwa Dunes. After one of ‘the best BBQ’s you’ll ever have’ for dinner, we walked to the headland at Horseshoe Bay. Students and staff enjoyed a great sunset offset by huge waves and gale force winds! For those of us who chose to brave the wild weather, the grimaces and smiles made for some excellent photos.

Next morning we started early with a coffee, bacon, egg and spicy Korean noodle breakfast. After packing our things, checking out of our rooms (Villas actually), we spent the rest of the day in the Victor Harbor and Granite Island precinct.

The trip was a whirlwind tour, but a great time was had by all. A big thanks must go to Damien, Zora and Joyce for making the trip a very successful one for our newly arrived International students. The students now have lots of photos to share with their families back home!
