Year 12 Graduation Dinner 2023

University Senior College Year 12 Graduation Dinner was held on Wednesday 6 December at the Adelaide Convention Centre for our Graduating Class of 2023 and their families. It was a wonderful community celebration acknowledging our students’ achievements for 2023. Mr Callum MacPherson, Founder of Young Blood Media was our guest speaker and Anjali Beames delivered the Valedictory Speech. The Principal’s address was also memorable. Congratulations to the Graduating Class of 2023.

Borneo World Challenge Trip

Students on campus

A group of University Senior College Year 10 and 11 students, accompanied by David Place and Elly Pfitzner, are heading to Borneo on a World Challenge trip. On this 21-day trip, students will develop their leadership, resilience, and teamwork, and learn about conservation and sustainability.

Student Citizenship Award 2023

The Student Citizenship Awards program is conducted annually of which Her Excellency the Governor is Patron. Senior students are nominated and assessed against four criteria – leadership, contributions to the school and/or community and contributions to the environment and/or community development, as well as pride in Australian citizenship.

Year 10 End of Year Excursion

USC Year 10s joined together for an end of year excursion that included badminton, basketball, and table tennis at Pridham Hall followed by a train trip to tenpin bowling. It was relaxing and fun way to celebrate the end of their first year at USC.

LGBTQIA+ City Tour

University Senior College students took part in the Gay History tour, in and around The University of Adelaide and Torrens River, accompanied by local historian Will Sergeant. They heard the stories of activism and justice and the development of South Australian law reform and life around Adelaide’s historical queer communities.

Spring Poetry Anthology

University Senior college Year 10 student Ann Rose will have her poem appear in SAETA’s (South Australian English Teacher Association) Spring Poetry Anthology for 2023 as part of the Spring Poetry festival. Congratulations Ann Rose.

USC gone troppo

In late November, USC hosted a Tropical Day, inviting students and staff to embrace the theme by wearing tropical attire. A lunchtime gathering featured a shared meal of Hawaiian Pizzas and tropical fruits. The occasion served as a chance for the school community to wish farewell to students and staff embarking on a twenty-one-day World Challenge Adventure to Borneo. Additionally, heartfelt well-wishes were extended to a staff member about to tie the knot in the tropics. The fun event was enjoyed by all, fostering a sense of community and celebration.

Parent Night on Addiction with Glen Gerreyn

University Senior College Parent Night on Addiction was an interactive, relevant, and contemporary presentation by Glen Gerreyn on the nature and process of addiction including examples of vaping, computer usage, video games, smartphones, toxic relationships and many more.

Research Project

Students on campus

The Research Project is a SACE requirement undertaken by every student in the state. At USC, students undertake the project across a single semester in Year 11 (generally). For 2023, the results showed excellent achievement for our students.
