University Senior College Building Fund
The University Senior College Voluntary Building Fund (“Building Fund”) was launched in June 2010. This important initiative will greatly affect the direction of the College and future learning opportunities at USC. Your involvement is crucial and will make a difference.
Notwithstanding the excellent facilities currently in use, the University Senior College School Council has for some time considered that the College’s operations should be consolidated and upgraded to improve efficiencies and better connect the teaching faculties. To this end the Jordan Laboratories, a substantial six storey building located in the north-west corner of the University of Adelaide campus, has been proposed as the future home base for USC. It will be the responsibility of the USC community to raise the finance and undertake the total refurbishment of the building.
The Building Fund was established to provide an opportunity for members of the USC community (past and present students, parents, caregivers and staff) to support the College’s building program. The Building Fund will provide a critical source of income to create contemporary learning spaces. The images shown provide a glimpse of the potential that the building offers as we transform a dated, but rock solid research laboratory into a dynamic, attractive and more flexible learning space.
Jordan Building Science Laboratories
The start or November 2013 was also the commencement of the $1.5 Million upgrade to the Jordan Building Science Laboratories.
This is an exciting development that will add much to the quality of the USC learning experience. The project will deliver:
- state of the art laboratories to support Chemistry, Physics and Biology
- more flexible space in a modern physical environment
- contemporary information, communication and learning technologies to support student learning.
The redevelopment is scheduled for completion at the commencement of the 2014 academic year.
We look forward to keeping you up to date with the progress.
Thank you to the following donors who have made this possible:
